People in Feltham are invited to a public meeting on the town centre regeneration plans on Thursday (October 8).

The Feltham Vision and Concept Masterplan (FVCM) explores a new public square around the station welcoming people to the area; a new leisure hub; transforming unused green spaces into community parks such as Feltham Arenas; more housing; improved cycling and walking access; and a better retail mix with more restaurants and cafes.

The meeting will be held from 6pm-7pm at Feltham Library in the High Street.

Councillor Steve Curran, leader of Hounslow Council, said: “The FVCM is a vision for Feltham in the coming years. We want Feltham to be a thriving town with a close knit community who are proud of where they live.

“It’s a commitment of this administration to improve Feltham but at the same time it’s important that we make sure that any new developments help to showcase Feltham’s history and cultural assets.

“It’s a great opportunity to improve the lives of people living and working in Feltham without sacrificing any of its character.

“Come along to the meeting so we can unveil and explain the vision.”

Hounslow Council commissioned urban designers Urban Initiatives Studio to work with council officers to develop the FVCM in October last year.

Since then, there have been two stakeholder engagement events and a public exhibition was staged in Feltham Library in February and March.

The Feltham Town Centre Masterplan forms a key part of the West of the Borough Plan which will be developed over the next two to three years, and is part of Hounslow council's ambitious Local Plan for the next 15 years.
