Police in Hounslow have pledged to crack down on the problem of street drinking after revealing people go out of the way to avoid certain areas.

Women avoid using Hounslow East Tube station because so many drinkers congregate on the pavements, open spaces and alleyways in and around Kingsley Road, and other drinking hot spots in the area.

The whole of the borough is a Controlled Drinking Zone (CDZ) , with misbehaving street drinkers facing a fine of up to £500.
