Revised plans for the Walkabout site in Shepherd’s Bush will go on public display next week.

The designs by Flanagan Lawrence Architects will be open for the public to view on January 26 and differ greatly from the controversial application which was rejected last year.

Applicants Dorsett Hospitality International are seeking the views of the public before entering its planning application to Hammersmith and Fulham Council .

Its controversial plans to build a 16-storey hotel and apartments on the site of Walkabout was turned down by the council in May. Among the reasons given was that the proposed building was too large and dominant in the conservation area.

The new application will see the plans to build the tower ditched, while parts of the existing building’s façade will be retained.

The building, which will be an extension to the existing hotel with the ground floor providing additional hotel restaurant space, will be considerably lower at the front and rear than the previous proposal, and the application will include a cinema in the basement.

In addition, Dorsett Hospitality International propose to significantly improve the Rockwood Place environment so that it provides a safe, secure and attractive pedestrian route from Pennard Road to Shepherd’s Bush Green .

Members of Dorsett International’s professional team will be on hand at the public exhibition to explain the proposals and to answer your questions.

The exhibition takes place at Dorsett Shepherds Bush , on Shepherd’s Bush Green, between 2pm and 8pm.
