After months of gruelling revision, students celebrated the end of their GCSE exams in style, as these photos show.

Pupils at Heston Community School brought a touch of Oscar-style glamour to west London as they gathered for their end-of-year prom on Friday (July 8).

Year 11 pupils posed outside the school in Heston Road, Heston , as they arrived for the glitzy bash in elegant dresses and sharp suits fit to grace the red carpet of any West End opening.

The afternoon began with a cringeworthy moment as Year 11 learning coordinator Matthew Williams played a slideshow featuring the pupils when they first joined the school as fresh-faced year sevens.

Pupils sat down for lunch with teachers before hitting the dance floor.

The revelry was briefly interrupted by a fire alarm, which saw students filing onto the sports pitches in all their finery.

But the disruption failed to dampen spirits as pupils let their (lavishly coiffured) hair down ahead of the summer holidays.

They will return to the school on August 25, to collect their GCSE results , and we'll be keeping our fingers crossed for them.
