Science firm dunnhumby , based in Uxbridge Road, Ealing are sponsoring the Community Champion award

Mark Hinds, managing director, said: "We’re so pleased to sponsor the Community Champion award as it is relevant to what we do and aligns with our company values. Every year our people undertake volunteer projects with the local communities where we work, in Ealing and all around the world.”

dunhumby's previous successes include the Tesco Clubcard loyalty scheme and has been ranked by the Sunday Times in the top 100 best companies to work for and is one of the largest private employers in Ealing, with nearly 750 staff. dunnhumby encourages its employees to take part in its charity work, both locally and nationally, including raising money for the Brain Tumour Charity, supporting a local youth community festival in Ealing, as well as volunteer days for helping maintain local green spaces such as Walpole park. In 2014 dunnhumby will also be working with local schools to provide mentoring to students.

Bluebird Care in Pitshanger Lane, Ealing are sponsoring the Employee of the Year .

Ray Mortimer set up Bluebird Care nearly four years ago and now has 40 carers from across the globe and 70 clients. He prides himself on providing a unique service of tailored care visits, from 15 minutes to full live-in support. This has recently included care for adults with learning difficulties and special needs.

Ray said: "Business has doubled since this time last year in terms of numbers of customers and care workers. Live-in care has become more popular than we expected. Most people want to stay in their own home which is a better option for most people and keeps them in a better frame of mind. Going into a home can be very traumatic."

Ray, who has two sons, a daughter and four grandchildren, said their aim was to "maintain the clients' independence as much as possible. We are improving people’s quality of life. It is tremendously rewarding."

Northfields estate agents

Northfields Estates in Northfield Avenue, West Ealing are sponsoring the Business Champion award .

Northfields estate agents have won 29 national awards from best marketing to best customer, and donates part of the fees from each sale and let to the Log Cabin charity. The firm is also involved in local schools, Party in the Park and Light up the Lane.

Managing director Richard Palfreeman, 50, who opened the family-run business in 1988, said: “We listen to our customers, such as asking them what they particularly like about their property. Then we include that in the details. Where required we do individual websites. We try and stay ahead of the game. I like to be innovative and I am a very good networker. We also have very good staff and look after them. I am delighted to be supporting the Pride awards, which is a very worthwhile event for the borough of Ealing."

A member of the Ealing Chamber of Commerce (and twice its president) as well as other business and networking groups, Richard believes it is vital to be a part of your community .He said: “If you work in the community you have to give something back. It makes you feel better about yourself and helps the staff to feel involved.”

Ealing Broadway Shopping Centre

Ealing Broadway Shopping Centre are sponsoring the Young Achiever award .
