Lauren Booth compared some recent press reporting about Muslims to 1930s Nazi propaganda, during a visit to a mosque in Hounslow .

The journalist and broadcaster, who converted to Islam in 2010 after a 'holy experience', addressed a peace symposium held at Hounslow Jamia Mosque, in Wellington Road South, on Saturday (December 5).

According to a release by organisers of the event, she claimed recent terrorists attacks including those in France by so-called 'Islamists' had increased hostility towards Muslims in this country.

She told those assembled that recent press reporting was at its worst "reminiscent of Nazi propaganda" against Jews in the 1930s, and said it was important for people of all faiths to stand together .

The event, organised by Hounslow Mosques and Islamic Centres, and Hounslow Friends of Faith, ended with attendants from various religions pledging to work together to secure peace in the community.

They signed a joint statement condemning the recent terrorist atrocities and making a commitment to pull together in the name of "inclusiveness and tolerance".
