Officers are searching for a man in connection with a sexual assault after a woman was followed near Trafalgar Square.

The Metropolitan Police has released an image of a man they would like to speak to in relation to the incident, which took place in Mays Court, WC2.

On December 27 last year, the woman in her 30s, noticed she was being followed by a man on Southampton Street towards the Strand.

After heading into shops to avoid him, she thought she had lost him, but shortly after, found he was still following her.

He continued to walk behind her to Mays Court where he cornered and sexually assaulted the victim, the police said.
