The Met Police have released a CCTV image of a man they wish to speak to following a robbery in Westminster in which a man was violently attacked with a glass bottle.

Police were called to the incident in Charles II Street at around 1.15am on Friday, January 6 to reports of an assault.

Upon arriving, they found a man lying unconscious.

He had suffered serious facial injuries and was taken to hospital, where he required over 50 stitches during treatment on injuries to his face and head.

The 41-year-old man has since been discharged from hospital.

CCTV shows that two men were involved in the assault and robbery in which they approached the victim from behind.

One suspect pulled the victim to the ground, whilst the second launched a prolonged attack with a glass bottle.

The first suspect is seen to remove a high value watch from the victim, before fleeing the scene.

In an attempt to identify the first suspect, police have also released an image of the watch in question.

The stolen item is a Rolex Oyster Perpetual Watch which has a serial number of Z815979

The second suspect, an 18-year-old man, was arrested close to the scene.

He was later charged with attempted murder, GBH and robbery.
