A man shot dead in a street in Harlesden on Wednesday (November 2) has been officially named by police as James Owusu-Ajyekum.

Armed officers and paramedics were called to Tynsdale Road at around 10.45pm after reports of a shooting in Brent.

A man in his 20s found with gunshot injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene, after being gunned down on his doorstep in front of his mother by two men, reports the Evening Standard .

On Saturday (November 5) Metropolitan police officially named the victim as James Owusu-Ajyekum, after he was named locally on Thursday (November 3) .

A formal identification has not taken place, but next of kin have been informed and officers are satisfied the deceased is Mr Owusu-Ajyekum of Harlesden.

The cause of death was determined as gunshot wounds, a post-mortem examination on Friday (November 4) revealed.

No arrests have been made and police said enquiries are continuing.

The shooting took place near to where 27-year-old Oliver Tetlow was gunned down in March.

There is no suggestion the shootings are linked.
