A police officer from Westminster has been sacked for gross misconduct after taking Class A drugs.

PC Glen Gavin, 33, was dismissed without notice following a special case hearing after allegations that his conduct amounted to a breach of the standards of professional behaviour in respect of discreditable conduct, the Met said.

He was subject to a drugs test on March 30 which tested positive for cocaine , and admitted to consuming the drug on a number of occasions between mid 2014 and March 2015.

At the same hearing, trainee detective constable Osbert Rwamusy, 41, attached to Islington, was also dismissed after testing positive for cannabis.
