A murder investigation has been launched following the murder of a woman in Brent.

According to Met Police, officers were called at 7.22pm on Thursday, October 29 to reports of an incident at a residential address in Ashford Court.

Police attended along with London Ambulance Service and found a woman in her 40s with stab wounds, being pronounced dead at the scene.

Officers believe they know the identity of the deceased and next of kin have been informed but police await formal identification.

A post mortem examination took place on Saturday October 31 at Northwick Park mortuary and gave the cause of death as stab wound to the torso.

A 52-year-old man was reportedly found at the location with minor injuries and arrested on suspicion of murder.

He was taken to a north London hospital where he remains, his injuries are not life threatening.

The investigation is being led by Detective Chief Inspector Matt Bonner from the Homicide and Major Crime Command.
