Police are investigating yet another incident where a high-powered laser was shone in the direction of an incoming light into Heathrow Airport .

According to Metropolitan Police , the laser was shone at the British Airways flight on Monday (February 22) at around 7,47pm and they it did not endanger the aircraft, with the plane landing succesfully.

Police are currently working to establish where it took place and have confirmed that there have been no arrests.

The news comes as tougher restrictions on the sale of laser pens to under-21s have been called for and for them to be classified as 'offensive weapons' after a recent bout of lasers shone at Heathrow-bound planes.

Earlier this month, Heathrow Police shared a picture on Twitter of the view from a cockpit when a laser pen is shone at a plane .

A British Airways spokesperson said:“The safety of our crew and our customers is always our highest priority. 

“Our pilots report any incidents so that the authorities can investigate and take appropriate action. 

“We take such matters extremely seriously. ”
