Police smashed a car window open with a baton to rescue two dogs trapped in a hot car.
The panting pooches were seen barking in "distress" in a residential Hammersmith street on Wednesday (July 5) morning.
Inspector Richard Berns of Hammersmith and Fulham borough police reported that his team were on hand to set them free from the vehicle, at around 8.30am.
He told getwestlondon : "The dogs were left in the car for at least an hour, according to witnesses, and they were barking in seeming distress.
"They were given back to a very apologetic owner with some advice about dog care."
