Police are hunting for a man suspected of shooting at three police officers in Harrow.

The officers who were in a police vehicle in Gladstone Way in the early hours of Thursday (July 14) morning, had just attended another incident in the area.

The Metropolitan Police said the officers were not injured, however the suspect fled the scene.

He is described as a black male wearing a grey hooded top and jeans.

Detectives from the Trident and Area Crime Command are investigating.

Police were called to an earlier incident at 12.40am to reports of a man seen with a firearm in nearby Byron Road, Harrow.

Officers carried out a search of the area and found a man who was arrested for possession with intent to supply Class B drugs.

He was taken to a north London police station. No firearm was found.

While the trio of officers remained in the area they were fired at a short while later.

At this stage no arrests have been made in relation to the shot fired at the officers.
