Police investigating the shocking moment a jogger appears to push a pedestrian into the path of a bus say they are chasing up “a number of inquiries” following “a good response” from the public.

The footage was released by Scotland Yard on Tuesday (August 8) which saw the bus swerve out of the way of the pedestrian as she walked towards the Fulham side of Putney Bridge on May 5.

A spokesman for the Met said on Wednesday (August 9): “We have had a good response to the appeal and number of lines of inquiries are being followed up.”

The video shows the jogger, who is running towards Putney , apparently push the woman over for no reason.

The victim fell into an oncoming bus

She narrowly avoids collision with the vehicle only because it swerves drastically to avoid her.

It happened as the 33-year-old woman was walking on the east side of the bridge towards Putney Bridge Station at 7.33am.

Sergeant Mat Knowles, the investigating officer from Putney Safer Neighbourhood Team, said: “The victim was put in extreme danger when she was knocked into the road.

“It was only due to the superb quick reactions of the bus driver that she was not hit by the vehicle.

“We are keen to speak to the jogger in the CCTV about what happened that morning.

“We would urge him or anyone who recognises him to get in touch with us as soon as possible.”

Police also said the jogger was approached by the woman when he returned the other way around 15 minutes later, but he did not acknowledge her and carried on running.

The jogger is described as a white man, aged early to mid 30s, with brown eyes and short brown hair.
