A man has been charged and another released on bail after an assault outside a Hanwell pub on Saturday (September 24).

Met police charged student Aldamar Kirmani, 19, of Glenpark Court, on Sunday (September 25) with one count of GBH.

It came after a 32-year-old man was left in a critical condition after being attacked outside the Duke of York pub in Station Road in the early hours of Saturday morning (September 24).

Officers believe the victim, who suffered head injuries, was involved in a "verbal altercation" before he was assaulted at around 2am.

A second man, also 19, was arrested in connection with the investigation and has been bailed to return on a date in late November pending further enquiries.

Mr Kirmani appeared in custody on Monday (September 26) where he was bailed to appear at Isleworth Crown Court on October 24.
