A man has been charged with burglary following a break-in music mogul Simon Cowell ’s Holland Park mansion.

Darren February is due to appear at Hammersmith Magistrates’ Court on October 5.

The 32-year-old was charged on Tuesday (September 20) following an investigation by officers from Kensington and Chelsea police .

The break in at Mr Cowell’s house happened on December 4 2015 while he slept inside with his family.

At the time a source said: “It was clearly a very traumatic incident. Simon is just relieved that his family was safe and all right.

"Their safety is his number one priority.”

He said he believed the burglar had inside knowledge of his £35 million home, and it was later reported that a security guard managed to wrestle back around £500,000 in gems and jewellery from the burglar.
