Police have arrested a man in connection with two armed robberies at betting shops last week, after he handed himself in to a Harrow police station.

The first incident took place on May 31 at a bookmaker on College Hill Road, Harrow, while the second incident took place on June 4 at another bookmaker on Court Parade in Wembley .

A 41-year-old male handed himself in to police on Monday (June 13) and was arrested on suspicion of armed robbery and currently remains in police custody.

Detectives from the Met Police's Flying Squad had issued an appeal to the public for help in tracing a suspect in connection with the two armed robberies prior to the man's arrest.

The Flying Squad have placed on record their thanks to the public for their assistance with the investigation.
