Detectives are on the hunt for a man who smashed a window on a bus travelling from Heathrow Central bus station to Kingston in front of bewildered passengers.

Officers at Heathrow Airport are appealing for the public to help identify the man who boarded the 285 bus on Bath Road, close to the junction of Nene Road in Hillingdon , as part of an investigation into criminal damage.

When the driver stopped the bus at Envoy Avenue, on the Hounslow border, the suspect got off and left before the police arrived.

Police said they were called to reports of a disturbance on a route 285 bus at around 3.30pm on March 25.

During the disturbance a window was smashed, police said.

The suspect is described as white, in his mid-20s, 6ft 2ins tall, of slim build with dark cropped receding hair.

At the time he was wearing dark coloured clothing, including a black jacket and sunglasses.

Detective Constable Lorraine Davies, said: “We are appealing for help to identify this man after he broke a window in front of other passengers.

“It is important that we speak with him and I would urge anyone who recognises him to contact police.”

Anyone who recognises the man is asked to contact the investigative team on 020 3276 1352 or via 101.
