A police appeal has been launched after a 14-year-old girl was sexually assaulted on the London Underground at Holborn on Friday August 12.

The teen got on the Central Line train at Holborn with her family in the crowded carriage when a man sat near touched her inappropriately.

He is also believed to have attempted to kiss and touch another woman who was able to stop him.

The incident happened at around 10.20pm and police are calling for any witnesses to come forward.

An investigation has also been launched to find a man who exposed himself to a woman on the Central Line.

Investigating officer Detective Constable Andrew Parkinson said: “We would like to speak to anyone who saw this incident – or if you were the unknown woman who was also targeted by this man.

“We are committed to making sure that this kind of behaviour is stamped out on public transport.

“Incidents like this can make the victims feel threatened, scared and powerless and that is totally unacceptable.”

The man had been looking at the 14-year-old victim before he touched her inappropriately and when she sat down he touched her thigh.

He was travelling with another man and left the train at Mile End.

Police described the offender as white with short light brown hair and of a larger build.

He was in his late 20s and was wearing a light blue polo shirt and jeans.
