Thousands of families have walked, run and cycled more than 90,000 miles in the real life health game which has swept Hounslow and Ealing off its feet.

At the halfway point of the Beat the Street competition between the two boroughs, topping the leader board are Hounslow Town Primary School in Hounslow and Durdan's Park Primary School in Southall .

More than 80 teams are battling it out to see who can travel the furthest for the chance to win £1,000 of Decathlon vouchers.

Beat the Street is being run by Intelligent Health on behalf of the London Borough of Hounslow and Ealing Council .

The game inspires the whole community to get active and take up the challenge, increasing physical activity and improving their health and well-being.

With just under three weeks to go the whole there are plenty of bonus points up for grabs as well as few other surprises in store for players.

Councillor Corinna Smart, cabinet member for public health and leisure at Hounslow Council , said: “We have been incredibly impressed by the response to Beat the Street over the past three weeks – it is amazing to see so many people getting behind the competition and become more active.

“With three weeks left to go, we’d encourage anyone who hasn’t taken part to get involved by picking up a card at their nearest GP surgery, leisure centre or library; go exploring and discover something new about Hounslow or Southall.”

Earlier this year, St Mark's Catholic Primary School were crowned king of the streets , with St Lawrence RC Primary School in Feltham scooping top place last year.
