The stray pig found dodging traffic in Hammersmith has made a full recovery been and found a friend.

Wilbur was found by the police running loose on the A4 in the early hours of November 5.

She was caught by the officers and taken into Putney Animal Hospital where she was treated for minor injuries to her ear and neck. Staff named her after the character in Charlotte’s Web.

She has since been to the RSPCA’s Lockwood Centre for Horses & Donkeys, in Wormley, Surrey, where she has made a new friend.

Centre manager Anna Hemmings said: “She was very shy and timid when she arrived, cowering in the crate and not making any noise.

“But once she was placed into her new garden enclosure she slowly started to relax and settle into her surroundings.

“She seemed very pleased to have the company of our other pig, Piwi, in the pen next door.”

Piwi was found by a dog walker having been abandoned in woods in London Colney, Hertfordshire.

The two pigs are thought to be of a similar age - between three and six-months-old - and are both believed to be Vietnamese pot belly cross-types.”
