Bonnets and bodices were the order of the day as Gumley House Convent School was transported back to the world of Regency romance.

More than 100 girls at the secondary school in Isleworth were involved in the production of Pride and Prejudice, Jane Austen's classic novel of manners and marriage.

They put on four performances of the show between Tuesday and Friday, including a special preview for pupils from local primary schools.

The lavish costumes helped them roll back the years to the early 19th century, when looking for love was about dowries and deportment rather than emoticons and e-dating.
