These pictures show the shocking moment a car rolled back and crashed into a church building in Hounslow .

The photos show the red vehicle has mounted onto a path and driven into the presbytery - the priest' house - at Our Lady Queen of Apostles in Heston .

It appears part of a window has been smashed and there could be damage to the bricks at the Roman Catholic Church residence on The Green in Heston village.

An elderly man was taken to hospital suffering from shock. No other injuries have been reported.

Fire crews from Heston attended to the collision on Tuesday (January 24) afternoon along with the London Ambulance Service and police.

The incident occurred just hours after a car ploughed into The Continental Hotel on Lampton Road in Hounslow.

The London Fire Brigade (LFB) sent two fire engines and a specialist fire rescue unit and an officer.

It is unclear how the collision occurred but it is presumed the reverse gear was selected instead of drive, according to the local fire service.

A spokesman for Heston fire station told getwestlondon : "An elderly gentleman was removed to hospital by the LAS (London Ambulance Service) suffering from shock.

"I'm not aware of any other injuries.

"Our role was to rescue the gentlemen and ensure the property was safe.

"A borough surveyor from LBH (London Borough of Hounslow) also attended and confirmed the building was safe.

"Local police officers were in attendance too."

Diocesan Communications Officers for Westminster, Marie Saba, confirmed the car collided into the priest's house at the church in Heston.

She said "the damage had been contained".

A LFB spokeswoman added: "A car was in collision with a house.

"We were called at 12.03pm and the incident was all over by 1.11pm.

"We sent two fire engines."
