A 20-year-old man has been jailed and branded a "pest" by police, following a number incidents on London's train network.

Brandon Crozier ran away from police after being approached by officers at Euston station, when they identified him as being wanted for failing to appear at court in relation to multiple offences.

Following a police chase, Crozier was caught and became aggressive, violently kicking out and used his fingers to try and gouge out one of the officer's eyes, the police said.

Cosier, of Quex Road, Camden, also bit another officer who came over to assist.

He was taken into police custody and later charged with two counts of assaulting a police officer.

Inspector Tim Tubbs, commander for Euston station, said: “Crozier was a pest around the Euston and King’s Cross area and we are pleased with the sentence.

"The violence he demonstrated in trying to evade police custody was simply disgusting, resulting in two of my officers being assaulted.

"We do not tolerate this type of violent and antisocial behaviour and will always seek the toughest possible sentences."

Cozier appeared before Highbury Corner Magistrates’ court on Thursday, May 4 and was jailed for 10 weeks.

As part of his sentencing, Crozier was also handed a two year Criminal Behaviour Order, where he is prohibited from entering or alighting at Euston, King's Cross or St Pancras stations.

He is banned from entering or alighting outside any mainline or London Underground station unless with the possession of a valid ticket and with the intention to travel.

The Criminal Behaviour Order also prohibits him from entering or alighting any London Underground or mainline station whilst under the influence of intoxicating liquor or substances and also prohibits him from approaching people and threatening or intimidating them whilst in public.

Inspector Tim Tubbs added: “Crozier now has a court order prohibiting him from causing further distress of concern amongst the travelling public.

"This order should also be welcomed by members of the public, who will thankfully not have to experience his antisocial and at times, threatening behaviour."

“If anyone spots Crozier in breach of his order they should report it to us immediately by sending us a text to 61016 or by calling 0800 40 50 40.”
