A murder investigation is under way after a man was found with fatal stab wounds in Perivale.

Officers from the Metropolitan Police were called to Bilton Road at around 8.13pm on Sunday (December 10) by London Ambulance Service following reports a man had been stabbed.

Police and paramedics attended and found a man, understood to be 23, suffering a stab wound to the chest.

The man was taken to a west London hospital after receiving treatment at the scene where he was pronounced dead at 10.25pm.

His next of kin have been made aware.

The man is yet to be formally identified. A post-mortem examination will take place shortly.

The area remained cordoned off into the early hours of Monday morning (December 11).

No arrests have yet been made.

Met offices are carrying out door-to-door enquiries in the area in a bid to establish the circumstances that led to the man's death.
