Police have launched an appeal for information after a pensioner was robbed in Notting Hill last year.

Metropolitan Police say they were called to Ledbury Gardens with the junction of Chepstow Villas on July 31, after a 69-year-old man was set upon at around 7.55pm.

A man approached him and began to make references about football shouting, "Barcelona, Barcelona" at him.

The suspect then grabbed his wrist and tried to remove his watch.

The struggle between the pair led to the suspect pushing the victim and stealing the pensioner's watch.

Police say the victim was not injured during the robbery..

The watch has been described by police as a Cartier watch with a grey and silver face with diamonds around the front. It had black watch straps and is worth £30,000.

Police have released an e-fit image in an effort to find the suspect and is described as 6ft tall, aged approximately 25, with a Middle Eastern accent, short, dark brown or black hair and clean shaven.

He was wearing a navy blue t-shirt with a white swirl on it.

Police officers from Kensington and Chelsea are investigating.

Anyone with information or witnesses to the incident are asked to call the police non-emergency line on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
