A traumatised pensioner who suffered a stroke after being targeted by thieves at a Westminster cash machine remains in a critical condition.

The 76-year-old woman had withdrawn £200 from the ATM outside Lloyds Bank, in Victoria Street, Westminster, when two men approached and suggested she had not used the machine properly.

Confused by this, the woman re-inserted her bank card and the men watched as she entered her PIN number before distracting her further and making off with her card.

The woman was severely shaken and later that evening suffered a stroke and was taken to hospital where she remains in a critical condition more than a month later. Her family believe the robbers are responsible for her condition.

Do you recognise either of these men?

The Met Police on Friday (March 4) released CCTV footage of the robbery, which took place on Thursday, January 28, at 1.35pm.

Detectives have appealed for witnesses or anyone who recognises either man to get in touch.

The first suspect (image ref 205014) is a black man of medium build, aged 20-30, who was wearing dark clothing.

The second suspect (image ref 205016) is also black and was wearing a blue-grey cap, black coat with a white collar and a blue-grey shirt.

Anyone with any information is asked to call police on 101 quoting reference number 205014 (suspect 1) or 205016 (suspect 2), or to call Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555111.
