A second teenager has been charged with murder in connection with the fatal stabbing of Omid Saidy outside Parsons Green tube station.

The 20-year-old from Fulham was stabbed in Parsons Green Lane on Monday (October 16) and was pronounced dead at the scene at 8.30pm.

Shafiq Smith of Brudenell Avenue was arrested in Mitcham on Thursday (October 19) and charged with murder, attempted murder, and threatening a person with a bladed or pointed article in a public place.

Police charged the 18-year-old in the early hours of Saturday morning (October 21).

Mr Smith is due to appear at Wimbledon Magistrates' Court on Saturday (October 21).

Two women and a man were also arrested on Thursday (October 19) on suspicion of assisting an offender and have been released under investigation.

A 16-year-old, who cannot be named for legal reasons, appeared at Wimbledon Youth Court on Thursday (October 19) charged with murder as well as threatening another man with a knife.
