Britain will fall silent as it joins a Europe-wide minute’s silence at 11am on Monday (November 16).

It was also confirmed that Tuesday night’s England football friendly against France will go ahead with increased security at Wembley Stadium as England fans have called on home supporters to sing French national anthem during the match .

The words of La Marseillaise - the French national anthem - will be shown on the big screen for Three Lions fans to join in and screens outside the ground will show the French motto “Liberte, Egalite, Fraternite”.

After a Cobra meeting on Sunday (November 15), a spokesman for the Prime Minister David Cameron said: “Ministers discussed the ongoing support that would be available to people returning from Paris who were affected by the attacks.

“They also discussed our continued offer of support to the French authorities as they carry out their investigation, and the collaboration between France and the UK to reinforce borders while ensuring there are minimal delays to travellers.

“The safety and security of UK citizens remains paramount and the meeting discussed the operational response measures being put in place by the police, such as additional patrols and policing at the border.”
