Police investigating the murder of a woman from Harlington have released one of the last images taken of her before her disappearance and death.

The CCTV still shows Pardeep Kaur walking home from work on Sunday October 16. She left for work again the following morning (October 17) but never arrived and the 30-year-old was reported missing at 8pm that evening, when she had failed to return home.

Her body was found on October 22 underneath the Harlington High Street flyover in Hayes shortly after 4.30pm. She had been concealed on the waste ground, and formally identified on Wednesday (October 26).

Further tests are being carried out after a post-mortem examination carried out on Tuesday (October 25) failed to determine the cause of death.

Police hope the release of the new image, which shows her in the same clothes she was wearing the following morning, will result in public coming forward with information . Officers are also searching for the bag she is seen carrying.

Detective Inspector Jamie Stevenson, from the Homicide and Major Crime, which took over the investigation two days before Ms Kaur’s body was found, said: “We have carried out extensive CCTV and house to house enquiries piecing together information about Pardeep’s last known movements.

“Pardeep left home to head to work at a nearby hotel at about 6.10am on Monday, 17 October. We know that she never arrived at work and that her body was recovered, five days later, very near to a route she took to work.

“A key line of enquiry for this investigation continues to be that Pardeep was attacked by a stranger on her walk to work that morning, and sadly, was most likely murdered before she was reported missing.

“I am appealing to local residents who live nearby the wasteland, or specifically in the areas of Carlton Avenue and Bedwell Gardens.

“We are releasing a CCTV still showing Pardeep on her way home from work on Sunday, 16 October - the day before she went missing.

“It shows her wearing the same clothing and carrying the same handbag that she had on the morning she went missing.

“We have yet to find Pardeep’s handbag - it was a black shoulder bag - and I would like hear from anyone who has found a discarded handbag matching that description abandoned in the street or in their garden.

“This continues to be a fast-moving investigation.”

Chief Superintendent Colin Wingrove, in charge of policing in Hillingdon , said: “My thoughts are with Pardeep’s family and friends at this incredibly difficult time. Local officers are doing all they can to support the ongoing investigation into her murder, supporting colleagues from the Homicide and Major Crime Command.

“We have had extra officers patrolling around the Pinkwell and Harlington areas and those patrols will continue. I can understand why such an unusual crime may cause concern within our community. If you are worried, or have concerns, please talk to our officers when they are out and about.”
