Shoppers in London's Oxford Street reacted in panic after a knife incident where a man received a "superficial wound".

A spokesman for Metropolitan Police told getwestlondon that officers responded to the incident near Selfridges on Europe's busiest high street at 3.41pm on Thursday (November 16).

The man, who police say has mental health issues, was found with a "superficial" wound and has been taken to hospital to receive treatment.

Police have not made any arrests and are seeking no other people in connection with the incident.

Westminster Police described the injury on Twitter as "not serious".
