A motorbike and two cars have been involved in a crash not far from Uxbridge on the A4020 Oxford Road.

The collision happened at the junction with Harefield Road and emergency services remain on the scene dealing with the "major incident".

Metropolitan Police officers were called to the scene at around 1.10pm to reports of the collision involving multiple vehicles.

It is unclear if there were any injuries during the crash but one witness said the road is closed form the Denham roundabout.

The witness added that lots of blue lights could be seen and traffic is at a standstill heading into Uxbridge.

Oxford Road looking clear

The Oxford Road between Uxbridge and the A40 is now looking clear after the earlier reported road closure following the crash.

Reports say the collision involved a Mercedes and a moped and the Met Police said two cars and a motorbike were involved.

The moped rider was believed to have been conscious and talking after the crash but it is unclear if there were any injuries.

Road closures lifted

It appears the previous reported closure of Oxford Road has been lifted as Transport for London say buses have returned to their regular route.

Police statement

There isn’t a great deal of information from the Metropolitan Police on the collision but they were able to confirm the collision involved two cars and a motorbike.

The Met said: “We were called at about 1.10pm to reports of two cars and a motorcycle in a collision on the Oxford Road.

“Emergency services are on scene.

“No reports of any injuries.”

Moped and a Mercedes involved

A member of staff at a nearby motor parts shop said the crash involved a moped and a Mercedes.

The moped rider was said to be talking after the crash and emergency services have mostly cleared the road.

It happened directly outside the KFC and apparently there is one police car still on the scene.

Passer-by calls it a 'major incident'

The crash has been referred to by a passer-by as a ‘major incident’.

They said: “Major incident on Oxford road, denham/Uxbridge.

“Lots of blue lights and lots of traffic standstill going into Uxbridge.

Police has closed road from denham roundabout.”
