Police have issued CCTV stills of ten people they would like to speak to in connection with an assault at a tube station which left a man fighting for his life in hospital

The attack happened during the early hours of Sunday morning (November 5) on platform 3 of the southbound Bakerloo line at Oxford Circus station.

Officers have launched an investigation following the incident, in which two men sustained serious head injuries at around 11.15am.

A group of eight to 12 men and women left the southbound Bakerloo line before being involved in an altercation with two white men, resulting in one man being knocked unconscious and a second man injured.

British Transport Police say both men suffered injuries, with one man sustaining serious head injuries.

He was taken to hospital and treated for bleeding and swelling on the brain and a fractured skull, he still remains in hospital in a life threatening and life changing condition.

The second man received cuts to his head and has since been discharged from hospital.

Officers would now like to speak to the people in the CCTV images as they believe they may have information that could help with the investigation.

Detective Inspector Gabriel Oresajo said: "This was an unprovoked attack on two men who were going about their travel.

"Everyone has the right to travel on the rail network without fear of crime. I am keen to speak to anyone with any information, no matter how big or small the detail may seem."
