A woman who was taken into custody after climbing on a roof near The Oval has been further arrested on suspicion of criminal damage.

The woman was originally arrested by the Metropolitan Police on Tuesday morning (October 17) before she was further arrested on suspicion of criminal damage.

A Met Police spokesman confirmed the woman remains in custody on Wednesday morning (October 18).

Police were called to Harleyford Road near Surrey's cricket ground on Monday evening following reports of a woman causing a disturbance outside a property.

Following a 12-hour stand off, she climbed down from the roof and was checked over by the London Ambulance Service before she was arrested on suspicion of possession of an offensive weapon and affray.
