The organisers of the 10km run at which a 37-year-old carpenter from Feltham died after collapsing , have expressed their "sincerest condolences" to his family and friends.

Czeslaw Dudek, a married father-of-one from Hounslow , collapsed shortly before reaching the finishing line of the Weybridge 10km in Surrey on Sunday morning (March 5).

It is believed Mr Dudek's wife Sylwia and their seven-year-old daughter were supporting him at the race.

Mr Dudek was pronounced dead on his arrival to hospital, after receiving emergency medical treatment at the scene.

Organisers of the event, independent sports shop, Weybridge Sports, released a statement this morning (Monday March 6).

"A 37-year-old man collapsed before the finish line and although immediate medical attention was provided to the casualty, the fatality was confirmed on his arrival at hospital.

"The organisers would like to express their sincere condolences to the family and friends of the deceased."

"We would like to ask for your understanding in this matter," the statement added.

"We would like to emphasise our immediate concern is for the family of the deceased.

"Our thoughts and deepest sympathies are with them at this difficult time."
