Tube services were severely disrupted on Monday (May 22) morning after a fire alert closed Notting Hill Gate station.

Underground trains did not stop at the station and commuters were evacuated from the site after the alarm sounded at 7.39am.

The station sits on the District, Circle and Central lines, and caused delays and disruption to commuters during the morning rush hour.

Transport for London (TfL) said Notting Hill Gate reopened to passengers and services at 8.11am.

It said the fire alert affected Tube on the Central and District lines.
