Police cars and a search helicopter swarmed in on Northolt in a bid to catch a man wanted for fraud.

Officers attended an address in Sussex Crescent, Northolt, at 3.15pm on Thursday (July 25) following reports a man was in possession of stolen credit cards.

The suspect ran away from police and was chased - before extra police back up arrived and a helicopter helped to locate him.

Officers caught up with the man arrested him.

A Metropolitan Police spokesman said: "He was subsequently detained in the vicinity of Eastcote Lane North and arrested on suspicion of fraud.

"He was taken to a west London police station where he remains in custody.

"A police helicopter assisted."
