With the launch of the Night Tube taking place in London today, what possibilities does this bring for the capital's residents?

Although it greatly benefits those working shifts and is predicted to generate an economical boost for the city, there are a huge number of perks for others working and living in London too.

With late night events for both adults and children, we take a look at what you can do much later now the Night Tube begins.

1. Visit a late night salon for a pamper eve

3. Dino Snores: Late Night at the Natural History Museum for children

For kids AND adults, every few months the Natural History Museum hosts a sleepover .

Depending on the night you can listen to live music, sample a range of crunchy edible insects, take part in a treasure hunt and see an all-night monster movie marathon before bedding down next to a Tyrannosaurus.

For foodies, there's also a three-course meal and a hot breakfast the next morning.

4. Give your body a midnight workout

Fed up waiting for a treadmill at lunchtime?

Anytime Fitness , 24/7 Fitness and the Gym Group are just three places you can work up a sweat 24 hours a day.

London Moonwalk and Shine Night Walk are annual night-time marathons to raise money for cancer charities.

5. Hit the clubs known for late night raving

The weekend parties at Egg in Kings Cross are legendary.

The party goes on all night, with the club only closing at 10am on Sunday.

VQ or Vingt Quatre ('twenty four' in French) has just expanded it's all day/night concept by opening a third branch in Notting Hill.

That's on top of the 24 hour restaurants in Chelsea and Bloomsbury which offer high quality, classic comfort dishes around the clock.

7. Get a midnight delivery

If trekking to one of those late night restaurants is too much of a strain you can now get it delivered no matter how late/early you get in.
