London Fire Brigade 's (LFB) David Stanley Brown has been awarded the Queen's Fire Service Medal in the New Year Honours for 2016.

Mr Brown, with more than 30 years' experience with the fire service, is the director of operations prevention and response and was 'delighted' to receive the honour.

He told getwestlondon : “I am delighted to be recognised in the New Year Honours List, but would like to pay tribute to all those I have worked with over the years, without whose help and support I would not be receiving this award.”

Ron Dobson, London Fire Commissioner, commended Mr Brown for his accolade.

He said: "I am very pleased for Dave and it is a fitting recognition of all his hard work and achievements.”
