A new public link to the Thames Path in Fulham has opened.

Central Avenue is designed by London Barratt and is a tree-lined walk onto a stretch of Thames riverbank which was previously inaccessible to the public.

It consists of a granite and York stone paved pedestrian walkway, which can be accessed by emergency vehicles, with 22 mature London plane and three mature lime trees.

Ten crab apple trees have been planted along the river walk.

A series of replica metal planters, which will be seasonally planted, also lines the walkway and there are benches available for those who wish to enjoy the river views at more leisure.

It is near the 401-private homes Fulham Riverside development , which consists of apartments, duplexes and family townhouses, with underground car parking and a flagship Sainsbury’s superstore.

There are also plans to convert Fulham Wharf jetty, which currently serves as a Fulham Riverside sale suite, into a landscaped ecological reserve with an environmental education centre .
