A new academy is opening in Hammersmith aimed at helping young people gain valuable IT skills which will help them find employment.

Ealing, Hammersmith & West London’s College has formed a partnership with Learning Curve Group to launch a new IT Academy that will provide apprenticeship opportunities in IT.

The aim of the academy is to meet the skills gap the West London area and to provide more jobs to local people.

The college’s business manager Polly Persechino, said: “Equipping our local communities with the skills for employment is a key priority for Ealing, Hammersmith & West London’s College.

“We are looking forward to working with Learning Curve Group, owing to their extensive industry knowledge and experience, to support us in meeting the skills gap of IT professionals in West London. We want to enhance the opportunities available to local people through training and employment.”

The new IT Academy coincides with the college’s 100 Apprentices in 100 Days campaign, which is seeing it promote apprenticeships and create as many work opportunities for local people as possible.

The college already works with leading employers to create apprenticeship opportunities for local people, providing opportunities in IT, catering, hair and beauty, construction, business administration and more.

The IT Academy is currently recruiting for 16-18 year olds to start their apprenticeships now.

Applications can also be made any time of the year with a wide range of start dates available, with man positions available for a variety of IT companies.
