A temporary café and "natural" children's play area are to be created as part of plans to revamp a park in Isleworth.

The new facilities are set to open in time for summer at Redlees Park, in Twickenham Road, Hounslow Council has announced.

The park will also host a major event this autumn, details of which have yet to be announced, in a bid to encourage more visitors.

Meanwhile, people will be asked their views about longer term improvements to the park during a public consultation set to begin this May.

The consultation will seek to address long-standing concerns like car park congestion and the deteriorating condition of the tennis courts, five-a-side pitch and other facilities.

The park's new play area is expected to feature equipment including balancing logs, dens and climbing poles.

It will replace the one which closed last autumn due to concerns about the worn equipment and uneven ground.
