Neighbours have spoken of their shock following the discovery of two bodies in North Kensington.

It comes after police revealed a female body was discovered by officers in a property in Freston Road on Friday (November 20) night. They then quickly found the body of a man outside the address, and believe he fell to his death.

Some Freston Road neighbours had no idea of the gruesome discovery made by police at 9.45pm, while others said they were not aware until police carried out door-to-door enquiries the following day.

They told Getwestlondon that the incident happened at the high-rise Frinstead House. One woman who lives in the block, who did not want to be named, said: “I think police came at around 2am but I didn’t hear a thing. Police were here all day on Saturday, knocking on all the doors. It’s terrible, very sad news.”

She also said someone had fallen to their death from the same block around five years earlier when the first moved in.

Michael Defoe, youth and community manager at The Harrow Club, on Freston Road and opposite the entrance to Frinstead House, saw a heavy police presence at around 5.30am on Saturday. He said: “The entrance to flats was sealed off. Police were here, forensics were here, CID and plain-clothed officers were here. It was blocked off.”

One woman, living nearby, was unaware of what had happened. She said: “I’m shocked. I was at home but I’ve been ill so I haven’t been out. It’s awful.”

And another said she had received an email from police asking anyone with information to contact investigating officers.

On Monday (November 23) police said formal identification was yet to take place but next of kin have been informed. A post mortem was also scheduled to take place on Monday.

Detectives from the Homicide and Major Crime Command are looking into the circumstances of both deaths, but are not seeking anyone else in connection with their investigation.

Enquiries are continuing.
