A 15-year-old boy has been arrested on suspicion of murder after a teenager was stabbed to death in Neasden.

Emergency services were called to Tanfield Avenue at 3.50pm on Friday (October 6) after a crowd gathered around the 18-year-old, who sustained multiple stab wounds.

The teenager was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.

Detective Chief Inspector Nicola Wall from the Homicide and Major Crime Command has launched a murder investigation.

The 15-year-old boy has since been arrested on suspicion of murder and is being questioned by detectives.

Metropolitan Police is appealing for any witnesses or anyone with information to come forward.

A force spokesman said: "A crowd gathered around the victim soon after the attack and detectives are appealing for those who witnessed what happened or saw those involved leaving the scene after the attack to get in touch."

The victim's next-of-kin have been informed while a post-mortem examination and formal identification will be arranged in due course.
