Nando's in West London, Wembley and Staines are looking for managers - and the perks aren't bad!

Trips abroad, free food and a four-week sabbatical every five years - believe it or not these are all benefits of the job at Nando's.

And chicken fanatics (and for HR purposes probably, those who hate chicken too!) are being invited to apply for the general manager's role at the popular chain's south west London and Staines branches, and the assistant manager's job at Wembley.

The manager jobs offer a far from shoddy wage of between £32,000 and £40,000 a year, plus a bonus.

And an assistant manager at the peri-peri chain can earn up to £28,000 plus bonus.

The general manager's role is likened to being "head of the family".

The job description says: "They might be managers by job title but by night they turn into Superhero’s who lead, mentor, guide and adapt to every moment.

"Superheroes who turn forgettable days into unforgettable moments and who create lasting memories for both their team and their customers.

"At Nando’s we see our patrao for who they really are, inspirational!"

Perhaps even more eye-catching than the wage, though, are the perks which look as tantalising as any of the dishes on offer to customers.

Benefits of manager and assistant manager roles include:

  • 28 days holiday
  • Four-week sabbatical after every five years
  • 40% discount Monday – Thursday and 20% discount Friday – Sunday at all Nando’s restaurants when visiting with up to five guests
  • Free Nando’s on days worked
  • Healthcare and contributory pension scheme
  • Managers' conference - with previous ones having been held in South Africa and Brazil
  • Quarterly regional drinks evenings – including a themed Christmas party
  • Annual family fun day, which all employees can invite their families to

So what qualities are they looking for?

The candidate must have:

  • Management experience from a hospitality, retail or leisure background
  • A natural desire with a commercial mind to drive sales and an ability to use their personality to network with local businesses and make customers feel like Nando's is their home from home
  • Bucket-loads of passion and energy to inspire, lead and develop Nandocas (that's team members in Nando's speak)
  • A hunger to learn, develop and grow "as fast as Nando's does"
  • Expertise to nurture a team
  • Nando's values of pride, passion, integrity, courage and family.
