A murder investigation is underway after a man was stabbed to death in Kingsbury .

Emergency services were called to Doreen Avenue on Sunday (August 7) at 2.51am following reports of an assault.

A 41-year-old man was found with stab wounds and was pronounced dead at the scene shortly afterwards.

The man's next of kin have been informed but police said officers were awaiting formal identification.

A 38-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of murder and is being held at a north London police station.

This is the fourth fatal stabbing on west London's streets in the space of a week, following incidents in Southall , Kilburn and Russell Square .

Detectives from the Homicide and Major Crime Command are investigating, and police said a post-mortem examination would be held in due course.
