A murder investigation has been launched after a woman’s body was discovered in a flat in Fulham.

Police were called by an ambulance crew at 9.30pm on Saturday (March 28) to Romily Court, off Landridge Road, where a 33-year-old woman was declared dead at the scene.

Formal identification of the body has yet to take place, but police believe they know who she is. A spokesman said she is not a UK national and her next of kin are yet to be informed.

A postmortem examination began on Sunday (March 29) and is expected to continue on Wednesday (April 1).

An incident room has opened at Lewisham under DCI Rebecca Reeves of the Homicide and Major Crime Command.

She said: “I am appealing for anyone who saw or heard anything unusual or suspicious in Romily Court on Saturday, or in the previous few days, to call police.”

A 23-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the investigation. He has been bailed to return on a date in late May.

Anyone with information can call the incident room on 020 8721 4868, or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
