A motorcyclist has been hurt after being involved in a collision with a car in Hammersmith on Wednesday (September 7) morning.

It happened at the junction on Sterndale Road and Shepherd’s Bush Road shortly before 7.30am.

The London Ambulance Service (LAS) says it sent two crews to the scene. A spokesperson said: "We treated a man at the scene for leg injuries and took him as a priority to a hospital in west London."

At this moment it is not known how severe the injuries sustained to the motorcyclist are.

Police were still at the scene at around 10am, and the incident added extra woes to motorists making their way into work in the early morning rush hour, with roads blocked southbound as a result.

But Transport for London (TfL) tweeted at 9.40am that the junction and road had been cleared, with traffic now expected to return to normal.
