The iconic King's Road in Chelsea was closed to traffic on Tuesday evening following a collision.

Local police tweeted a photo of the sealed off road and urged motorists to avoid the area.

It was subsequently cleared and reopened shortly before 7pm.

The image, posted by Chelsea Riverside police, appeared to show a motorbike lying on its side.

A car was nearby across one of the lanes and debris was also visible on the road surface.

Bus routes 11, 22, and 328 were all put on diversion.

It happened the day after after a collision involving a police car, motorbike and taxi in Old Brompton Road, near the junction with Gloucester Road.

No-one was injured, but Kensington and Chelsea police have since tweeted that the motorbike did not have number plates.

A suspect has been arrested for "multiple offences", they added.
